WILSON HAGO, PhD
Wilson Hago is Biomass and Biocarbon Specialist at V-Grid Energy Systems. He was previously Director of Biochar Research at Cool Planet Energy Systems, a start-up company that received the 2015 Edison Gold Award in Agriculture for biochar work. Biochar is a soil amendment that improves soil sustainability, particularly in drought environments, while reducing agricultural inputs. In his previous life he was a battery chemist and hydrogen engine designer.
Wilson earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Brown University. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, American Physical Society, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and American Society of Agronomy.
