Henry Ines is a Partner at DFJ DragonFund, a venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley with offices in mainland China focused primarily on U.S.-China early stage investment opportunities. In this capacity, Mr. Ines looks at a variety of deals and sectors ranging from mobile/Internet to frontier technologies. Additionally, Mr. Ines also serves as the Executive Director of Global Chamber® San Francisco, an organization focused on supporting SF Bay Area leaders, companies, and communities to accelerate global business growth and participate in successful cross-border trade and investment opportunities worldwide. Separately, Mr. Ines is also the co-founder of social media startup StreetMarch, which facilitates and provides online- to offline-campaign organization & crowd mobilization solutions. Mr. Ines also works as an an advisor to multiple startups and organizations including the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) in Malaysia. He is also an active instructor at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore.
Mr. Ines began his career at Price Waterhouse LLP, providing management consulting primarily to Fortune 500 companies before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities (PwCS) to provide middle-market investment banking services within consumer industrial products and IT/telecommunications sectors. Mr. Ines later worked at M&T Bank within its Investment Banking & Capital Markets Group before joining Saddle River Associates in Hong Kong, where Mr. Ines supported the firm’s regional merchant banking business and initial joint ventures in mainland China. Most recently, Mr. Ines was a Managing Partner at DragonVenture, where Mr. Ines was responsible for the firm’s office in Singapore and its advisory business and deal origination initiatives throughout the Asia Pacific & Southeast Asia. Mr. Ines holds a BS in Finance from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
